Why We Only Print After You Order (and What 'Printed in Europe' Means)

Crescent Peak t-shirt with a crescent moon above a mountain – Arvenzo

At Arvenzo, there's no warehouse full of T-shirts and hoodies waiting around. Every piece is only printed after you've ordered it. That's called print on demand. It's a conscious choice, and in this article we explain why. We'll also be honest about what it means for delivery times, and what the label in your clothing says.

What is print on demand?

At most clothing brands it works like this: thousands of pieces are made in different sizes and colours, sent to a warehouse, and wait there until someone buys them. Whatever doesn't sell is discounted, dumped or even destroyed.

With print on demand, we turn that around:

  1. You choose a design, a colour and a size.
  2. Your order goes to our printing partner in Germany.
  3. There, the design is printed on a blank garment, especially for you.
  4. It's packed and shipped to you.

So nothing gets made that nobody wants.

Why do we choose this?

Less waste

According to the European Environment Agency, 4% to 9% of all textiles sold in Europe are destroyed before they are ever worn. That's 264,000 to 594,000 tonnes of clothing a year, with emissions roughly as large as those of the whole of Sweden.

Since July 2026, large companies in the EU are no longer allowed to destroy unsold clothing. With print on demand, the problem simply doesn't exist: we only make what's ordered.

Lots of choice, no stock

Because we don't need to hold stock, we can offer more than 40 designs, each as a T-shirt, sweatshirt and hoodie, in many colours and sizes. With a traditional warehouse, that would be impossible for a small brand.

A small, independent brand

Arvenzo is a small Belgian brand from Begijnendijk. Print on demand lets us create designs we love ourselves, without big investments in stock.

What does "Printed in Europe" mean?

The printing of your garment is done by our printing partner in Germany. That has advantages:

  • a shorter transport distance to you;
  • European rules on labour, safety and the environment;
  • faster delivery than shipping from outside Europe.

And what does the label say?

We want to be honest here, because it sometimes causes confusion. The label in your T-shirt or hoodie usually states the country where the blank garment was made, meaning where the fabric was woven and sewn. That can be a different country from where it's printed, sometimes outside Europe. That's the case for the vast majority of clothing sold in Europe, including at big brands.

The design comes from Arvenzo in Belgium, and the printing and finishing take place in Germany. So if you see another country on the label, it doesn't contradict "Printed in Europe". They're two different steps in the making process.

How long until you receive your order?

Because every piece is made especially for you, it takes a little longer than with a warehouse that ships immediately:

Step Average duration
Printing and finishing 2 to 5 working days
Transport 2 to 5 working days
Total on average 5 to 8 working days

As soon as your parcel leaves, you'll receive an email with a tracking code. Shipping is free throughout the EU on orders from €45 (otherwise €4.99).

Gift tip: order in time for St Nicholas and Christmas. Carriers are busier in December.

And if it doesn't fit?

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the moment you receive your parcel. Is something wrong with your order, such as a print error or damage? Send us a photo at support@arvenzo.eu and we'll fix it free of charge. All our products also come with the 2-year legal warranty. You'll find all the details in our shipping policy and our FAQ.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Arvenzo clothing made?

The designs are created by Arvenzo in Belgium. Printing is done after your order by our printing partner in Germany. The blank garment itself may be produced elsewhere; that country is stated on the label.

Why does delivery take longer than at big online shops?

Because your garment is only printed after you order. That way we don't throw away unsold clothing. Allow on average 5 to 8 working days.

Is print on demand more sustainable?

It avoids overproduction: nothing is made that nobody buys. That's an important advantage, because in Europe a large share of clothing is destroyed every year before it's ever worn.
